The QTI Group has partnered with a manufacturing company that is seeking a temporary Safety Coordinator. This position is responsible for conducting safety observations, identifying workplace hazards, and coordinating with personnel to address issues. The role involves performing online safety inspections, supporting minor investigations, and remotely assisting another location to ensure safety protocols are implemented effectively. This position requires an individual contributor who can effectively follow up with the Safety team to ensure corrective actions are taken.

This temporary position is anticipated to begin as early as October 28th and will last for approximately 5 weeks. The role is onsite, located in Columbus, WI, with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Pay starts at $26+/hr., based on experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring the highest safety compliance standards and a healthy work setting for staff, visitors, and vendors by performing audits, inspections, and site walks.
  • Supporting emergency preparedness and response efforts, including developing evacuation plans and procedures, and running drills.
  • Investigating accidents, incidents, and near-miss events to determine root causes and implement corrective measures to prevent a recurrence.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote safety initiatives and ensure the integration of safety practices into daily operations.
  • Assess workplace hazards and risks and recommend appropriate measures to mitigate them.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for safety inspections, incidents, and training.
  • Provide guidance and support to management and employees on safety-related matters.
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in a safety-related role.
  • Relevant certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification, or Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS).
  • Proficiency in safety auditing, inspection, and identifying hazards.
  • Familiar with compliance with OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with employees at all levels.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to enforce safety procedures and protocols.
  • Willingness to complete background check and drug screen upon receiving a job offer.
  • Steel-toe shoes and safety glasses are required.
