Summary:
The QTI Group has partnered with a plastic fabrication company that is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is responsible for managing purchasing functions, maintaining inventory accuracy, and supporting procurement operations. The ideal candidate will have purchasing experience in a manufacturing setting and be proficient with ERP systems, with Sage 100 experience preferred. This position will also serve as a backup for answering phones and greeting visitors.

This full-time role offers a flexible start time between 7:00 AM – 8:00 AM, Monday through Friday. The standard schedule includes four 9-hour days and a 4-hour Friday.

The pay starts at $27+/hr., based on experience.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage purchasing activities, including order placement, supplier management, and cost analysis.
  • Monitor and replenish raw materials and finished goods as needed.
  • Utilize ERP software to track orders, maintain vendor relationships, and oversee inventory levels.
  • Assist with implementing the Sage Operations Management module and improving inventory systems.
  • Conduct cycle counts and process replenishment orders.
  • Receive and log incoming products in Sage and coordinate material movement between storage and production.
  • Develop and maintain professional inventory systems, including reorder points and Kanban ordering.
  • Identify cost reduction opportunities and negotiate pricing with vendors.
  • Provide general administrative support, including answering phones (minimal calls) and greeting visitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma required.
  • 2+ years of purchasing experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, MRP, and ERP systems (Sage 100 preferred).
  • Effective negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
