A local steel manufacturer is looking for a Project Manager to join their team. The Project Manager is responsible for managing the projects throughout the design process, into our shop for fabrication and scheduling out for delivery to the job site. The Project Manager will be the main point of contact on the job and be working on building positive, professional relationships with the customer and design professionals while assisting with the planning, organization, and management of the day-to-day operations.
This full-time position offers a 1st shift schedule, Monday-Friday, from 6am-4pm. Pay starts at $76k/yr. based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Structural Designers, Project Leads, and Project Managers to achieve project objectives.
- Monitor various aspects of projects and provide support to ensure timely and efficient execution.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Joist and Deck Suppliers, coordinating schedules and addressing job-related inquiries.
- Work with the Vice President of Operations to prepare and update project schedules, ensuring they reflect current progress.
- Oversee project goals, ensuring they are realistic, on schedule, and successfully achieved.
- Manage and track purchase orders, change orders, submittals, RFIs, and proposals.
- Assist in sourcing materials and other resources required to meet project objectives.
- Review addendums and updated information for any changes impacting assigned work.
- Communicate effectively with the Production Management Team to ensure alignment and coordination.
- Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and other technical documents accurately.
- Compile and finalize project close-out documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 1+ years of proven, successful experience in a relevant role.
- Familiarity with Tekla EPM, Bluebeam, CAD, Revit, and SDS/2 is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications.
- Experience with scheduling and managing project timelines.
- Skilled in budget management and tracking.
- Background in structural steel is ideal.
- Strong organizational skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented and dedicated to ensuring projects are executed efficiently and effectively.
