Summary
The QTI Group is partnering with a Madison-based company to hire its next Project Accountant. Reporting to the Controller, this accountant will handle project accounting and financials.

Comp Range: $75,000-95,000 depending on experience.

Location: In-office in Madison, Wisconsin. Potential for eventual remote work 1 day/week

Responsibilities include:
  • Track project job expenses and manage change orders and subcontracts
  • Perform account reconciliation
  • Provide support to Project Managers for project financial tracking and reporting
  • Partner with project teams to ensure compliance with contract terms and assist with revenue forecasts, project cost tracking, and project close-out activities.
  • Manage billings, including fixed price and time & material billings, and ensure billings are prepared in line with customer and contract requirements
  • Set up contract and service jobs in Vista accounting software
  • Enter transactional cost information and transfer costs as needed to/from contact jobs and service jobs
  • Confirm project requirements are met and facilitate the close-out process
  • Assist with RFPs, including bid forms
  • Participate and assist with other accounting needs, reporting and account reconciliation
  • Serve as point of contact for customers, vendors, and internal teams by providing account information and project updates.
  • Serve as a resource to internal customers with financial and accounting-related project data

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of professional accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry
  • Experience with construction accounting software; Vista by Viewpoint software is a plus
  • Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
