A local steel manufacturer is seeking a skilled Production Manager to join their team. In this role, the Production Manager will oversee the creation, management, and monitoring of project schedules in collaboration with Project Leads and Project Managers. They will coordinate and track project tasks and timelines, proactively identifying and addressing potential delays or deviations.
The Production Manager is responsible for preparing projects for shop introduction and managing all aspects of scheduling to ensure smooth execution. This position requires proven expertise in production management, a strong understanding of quality standards, and the ability to enforce them effectively.
This full-time position offers a 1st shift schedule, Monday-Friday, from 6am-4pm. Pay starts at $23/hr. based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Import projects into Tekla EPM software and prepare them for shop production.
- Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and related documentation, identifying potential issues that could impact project outcomes before shop introduction.
- Stay informed on current lead times for inventory vendors and assist in securing materials and resources needed to achieve project goals.
- Develop and maintain work and delivery schedules, updating them as necessary to reflect the latest project status.
- Collaborate closely with the Vice President of Manufacturing, Project Leads, Project Managers, and site teams to ensure production timelines and requirements are met.
- Monitor project timelines, adjust for updates or changes, and ensure deadlines are met for on-time delivery.
- Compile and finalize project close-out documentation.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree in construction, project management, or a related field preferred.
- Strong decision-making skills with a results-driven mindset.
- Advanced computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Suite, including a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience managing email inquiries, processing data, and transferring information effectively.
- Familiarity with Tekla EPM is ideal.
- Proven experience in scheduling day-to-day work and coordinating deliveries.
- Background in steel fabrication is ideal.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong problem-solving abilities.
- Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
- Skilled in organizing and maintaining records, files, and databases.
