A local steel manufacturer is seeking a Preproduction Manager to join their team. In this role, the Preproduction Manager will be responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing projects and schedules in collaboration with Project Leads and Project Managers. The Preproduction Manager will coordinate project tasks, monitor timelines, and proactively identify and address any potential scheduling delays or deviations.
This full-time position offers a 1st shift schedule, Monday-Friday from 6am-4pm. Pay starts at $20/hr. based on experience.
Responsibilities:
- Import projects into internal software, Tekla EPM, and prepare them for shop production.
- Interpret and analyze blueprints, welding symbols, and related documentation, identifying potential issues that could impact project outcomes before introducing them to the shop.
- Stay updated on lead times with inventory vendors and assist in procuring materials and resources needed to achieve project objectives.
- Develop and maintain work and delivery schedules, updating them as necessary to reflect the current project status.
- Manage email inquiries, process information, and transfer data efficiently.
- Collaborate with the Vice President of Manufacturing, Project Leads, Project Managers, and site teams to ensure production timelines and project requirements are met.
- Monitor project timelines and deadlines, accommodating updates and schedule changes to ensure on-time delivery.
- Organize and maintain records, files, and databases to ensure accurate and accessible documentation.
- Compile and finalize project close-out documentation.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Associate degree in construction, project management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, with a strong emphasis on expertise in Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with Tekla EPM is a plus.
- Experience in scheduling, including day-to-day work and delivery coordination.
- Background in steel fabrication is highly desirable.
- Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
