Summary
The QTI Group is partnering with a manufacturer to hire a new Packaging Engineer. Play a key role in supporting product packaging from inception through to production, ensuring quality and safety of our food products.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 1st shift with flexible hours
Compensation: $55,000 - $64,000 annual salary + bonus potential
Responsibilities include:
- Packaging product development and testing from ideation to final product
- Conduct shelf-life trials and production trials to assess product and packaging performance under varying conditions.
- New item set-up and launch
- Set up a structured process and serve as primary liaison between departments during new item set-up and production launches.
- Monitor product safety and quality during active project phases
- Collaborate with Ops, Maintenance and Engineering teams to assist in new production line set-up, including equipment selection and modification for new packaging lines.
- Assist in optimization of production line layouts to enhance efficiency of operations
- Monitor yield goals in partnership with production team
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s in Packaging Engineering, Food Science, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered
- 2+ years’ experience desired in food science, specifically related to food packaging materials and processes
- Demonstrated passion for process and product development, particularly as it relates to innovative and effective packaging in the food industry
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams in a manufacturing environment
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.
