Summary:
The Maintenance Manager’s role centers on having accountability for the entire performance and health of Maintenance Department operating in a 24/7 environment. Role is responsible for building the maintenance team’s ownership, capability and execution excellence of Standard Maintenance Practices, Computer Maintenance Management System (EAM) and Process Control. The role is tactically focused on empowering the Maintenance team’s accountability to company goals, business performance expectations, continuous improvement and operational excellence. The Maintenance Manager will have all maintenance team members report directly to them. This is an integral role within a fast growing small business; therefore, they must be open to wearing many hats and have high integrity in all that they do.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Managing the site-wide maintenance function, including, packaging, process, mechanical, electrical, building maintenance and stationary engineering
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance re: health & safety, and environmental standards
  • Build the Maintenance team’s technical & functional capabilities
  • Assume total responsibility for the Maintenance Department budget ensuring proper expenditures and accountability
  • Focus on the development of the Maintenance team to continually improve maintenance strategies and equipment efficiencies
  • Procurement process (vendor selection, ordering, receiving) up to $10,000
  • Shutdown scheduling
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED, Post-Secondary Education a plus
  • Maintenance Management training & experience Managing a leading a large Maintenance department
  • Trades or Engineering background in food manufacturing environment preferred
Knowledge and Skill:
  • Experienced in a Management capacity within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices as well as the concepts of Best in Class Maintenance and Process Control
  • Strong emphasis on developing others capabilities. Enjoys working with others and sees team work as a more productive environment. Can recognize others achievements and improvements as well as dealing with conflict effectively
  • The ability to communicate effectively at all levels through excellent active listening skills, communication and facilitation skills
  • High degree of computer & systems knowledge
  • Familiarity with 5S and Lean Practices
  • An effective team player with a good sense of priorities, able to manage well under pressure with a proven track record in managing people
