Summary:
The Food Safety Auditor is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing food, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role plays a key part in fostering a strong culture of food safety, minimizing risks, and maintaining a clean and compliant environment. The Food Safety Auditor will collaborate across departments to identify hazards, provide training, and drive continuous improvement in food safety and workplace safety practices.
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm
  • Pay:$70K- $90K, based on experience

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement food safety policies and procedures in compliance with FDA, USDA, WDATCP, and other regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to food safety and employee safety standards.
  • Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and deliver employee training on food safety practices, including GMPs, CCPs, and self-inspection audits.
  • Provide safety training on emergency response, first aid, CPR, and other workplace safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with management to reinforce a culture of food and workplace safety throughout the organization.
  • Maintain accurate records of audits, inspections, incidents, training, and compliance reports.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory updates related to food safety and occupational health and safety.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field.
  • Proven experience in food quality management or a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Knowledge of employee safety regulations, with a willingness to expand expertise in this area.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to train employees at all levels effectively.
  • Proficiency in root cause analysis to identify hazards and implement preventive measures.
  • Problem-solving skills to develop creative solutions for unique safety challenges.
  • Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail in documentation and compliance tracking.
