Summary
The QTI Group is proud to partner with WPS Health Solutions to hire a Director, Actuarial Services! The Director of Actuarial Services will oversee and report on financial results of various health insurance products, identify and analyze factors which will change future revenue and claims costs, and direct recommended rate, administrative, or other risk related changes such that financial projections are achieved.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and manage financial performance of all health insurance products.
- Review and approve corporate reserves and report on financial results.
- Review and approve rate changes for insurance products.
- Evaluate health insurance law/regulation changes and determine financial impact on WPS health products.
- Support Health Plan budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning activities in partnership with the Enterprise Strategy and Corporate FP&A teams.
- Partner with leaders of increasing seniority, including Executive leaders, to manage and improve the performance of the health plan business.
- Manage employee performance to create and/or maintain a high-performing team.

- Have experience working with providers to develop creative reimbursement arrangements OR have an interest in doing this.
- Enjoying reviewing and approving financial forecasts.
- Possess strong data analytics experience including predictive modeling and risk scoring models.
- Have ACA knowledge directly related to risk adjustment and have the interest and ability to perform ACA risk adjustment operations.
- Can evaluate and determine strategy for managing corporate reinsurance treaties.
- Are process improvement minded and continually seek out new and creative ways to approach challenges.
- Are a leader with a natural ability to inspire others, show enthusiasm, and champion projects.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience.
- 5+ years of related work and/or leadership experience in actuarial services.
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation required upon hire.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree specifically in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics, or related field.
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
- 7+ years of related experience, including 3 years in health insurance industry and 2 years staff supervision with direct program responsibility.
- Experience in pricing and risk assessment, provider financial economics, reserving, ACA individual, Medicare Supplement, ACA small group, and stop loss.
- Experience quoting large groups and working with ASO groups.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills.
Salary Range: $175,000 - $225,000. The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
