Summary:

Our client on the East side of Madison is looking to add multiple Customer Service Reps to their growing team. As a Customer Service Representative, you will be working with borrowers in resolving their delinquent or default account status. Apply today to be considered!
  • Full-time schedule Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Pay: $18.50 per hour based on experience.
Responsibilities:
  • Act as an effective liaison between the school, servicer, and borrower.
  • Effectively and efficiently counsel borrowers for their federal student loans in a manner that results in excellent customer service by explaining their available options to resolve delinquency or get out of default.
  • Verify and obtain new demographic information, including email addresses during contacts with borrowers.
  • Respond to e-mail inquiries from internal and outside customers in a manner that results in excellent customer service.
  • Provide borrowers with accurate information regarding their loan and assist them in finding the best solution based on their situation.
  • Effectively counsel borrowers regarding payment arrangements, deferment/forbearance, repayment plans, loan forgiveness/discharge, and consolidation options available to help them manage their student loan account. Explain rights and responsibilities to delinquent student loan borrowers, including the consequences of default.
  • Ability to navigate through Excel spreadsheets.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent and knowledge/experience equivalent to two years post-secondary education, preferably in a business or economics area of study.
  • Two plus years of experience in customer service positions that required proficiency in oral and written communication and entry of information into computerized files.
  • At least one-year experience in student loans, financial aid services, or other private banking loan services is a plus.
  • Have a good understanding of personal finances.
  • Ability to accurately word-process 35 WPM and/or key alpha/numeric data at a rate of 6,000 keystrokes per hour.
  • High School proficiency in math, grammar, and written communication.
  • Proficiency in office software products such as word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software
