Summary:
We are seeking a temporary Culinary Assistant to join our kitchen team for a company based in Madison, WI. This role will support our chefs and culinary staff in preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily kitchen activities. Starting date is October 14th.
Pay rate: $18/hr.
Schedule: Monday through Friday. 7:00 am - 3:30 pm or 6:30 am - 3:00 pm
Responsibilities:
- Assist chefs and cooks in food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, butchering meat, and preparing sauces
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and taking out trash
- Organize and stock kitchen stations and ensure that all ingredients and supplies are readily accessible
- Follow proper food handling and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Support kitchen staff in receiving and storing deliveries, as well as monitoring inventory levels
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment preferred but not required; culinary school education is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
