This role is full-time (40 hours per week) within the hours of Monday-Friday 7:00am-6:00pm. Pay is $50,000 or more per year based on education, licensure and experience.

Our client, a mission-driven mental health clinic in Sun Prairie, is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Counselor to provide therapeutic services to individuals, couples, families, and children. The Mental Health Counselor plays a vital role in assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, delivering therapy, and ensuring clinical documentation meets legal and ethical standards.

Responsibilities:
- Conduct mental health assessments and develop personalized treatment plans per DHS 35 regulations.
- Provide evidence-based therapy and maintain a consistent weekly caseload (approx. 70% of time in direct client care).
- Attend mandatory weekly supervision, training sessions, and collaboration meetings (especially for interns/in-training).
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation, including session notes, CPT coding, treatment plans, and revisions.
- Track and meet assigned weekly billable hour requirements; notify team if at risk of falling short.
- Collaborate with supervisors, peers, and other staff on complex cases and treatment plans.
- Manage administrative tasks such as session scheduling changes, referrals, client audits, and supervision documentation.
- Participate in community outreach, staff meetings, policy development, and quality assurance initiatives.
- Remain up-to-date on state regulations, CEUs, and licensing maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, or related mental health field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience.
- Active Wisconsin license (LPC, LCSW, LMFT) or working toward licensure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with clinical documentation standards.
- Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
