Position Summary:
In a dual role as CAD Designer and CAD Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in the design and production processes of commercial cabinetry for chain retail stores. You will be responsible for overseeing CAD production drawings, schematic design, product/prototype support, quality control, consultation, staff management and development, process improvements, and vendor and client relations. This role requires a balance of creative design skills and strong leadership capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Generate CAD production drawings and schematic designs for commercial cabinetry projects.
Provide creative and effective design solutions for the food service industry.
Plan, design, and furnish interior environments of commercial and industrial buildings according to client needs.
Lay out complete products and prepare assembly and detail drawings.
Make calculations such as strength of materials, weights, forces, and stresses.
Design, develop, and improve new or existing products, overseeing the building and testing of prototypes.
Research and explore new software to enhance CAD drawing generation.
Supervise CAD design team, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
Manage day-to-day operations of the CAD department, ensuring deadlines are met and projects are executed efficiently.
Implement process improvements to optimize workflow and productivity.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and clients.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in engineering technology or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with material selection, manufacturing processes, and computer-aided design.
Prior experience in staff and operations management is a plus.
Highly skilled in standard CAD software (AutoCAD, SketchUp, Fusion360).
General knowledge of graphics software, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
